Easy Frozen Shirley Temple Mocktail (Print version)

A frosty Shirley Temple slushy made with lemon-lime soda, grenadine, lime, ice, and maraschino cherries in about 5 minutes.

# Ingredients:

For the slush

01 - 2 cups ice cubes
02 - 1 cup (240 ml) chilled lemon-lime soda, plus 1/4 cup (60 ml) more for topping
03 - 3 tablespoons (45 ml) grenadine syrup
04 - 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice, plus more to taste
05 - 1 teaspoon maraschino cherry juice

For serving

06 - 4 maraschino cherries
07 - 2 lime wheels or orange slices, optional

# Instructions:

01 - Place 2 serving glasses in the freezer for 5 minutes if you have time. Keep the soda cold until blending.
02 - Add the ice, 1 cup lemon-lime soda, grenadine, lime juice, and cherry juice to a blender. Pulse until thick and slushy, about 20-30 seconds.
03 - Taste and adjust with more lime juice if it is too sweet. Add a splash of soda if the slush is too thick, or a few ice cubes if it is too loose.
04 - Divide the frozen mocktail between the chilled glasses. Top each glass with a small splash of cold lemon-lime soda for fizz.
05 - Add maraschino cherries and a lime wheel or orange slice. Serve immediately while cold and bubbly.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served immediately after blending.
02 - Use chilled soda for the thickest slushy texture.
03 - Replace half the soda with sparkling water for a less sweet drink.
