Cool and Refreshing Frozen Cherry Drink (Print version)

A bright frozen cherry drink with real cherries, lime juice, cherry juice, and a splash of bubbles for an icy summer sip.

# Ingredients:

For the frozen cherry drink

01 - 3 cups (420 g) frozen pitted sweet cherries
02 - 1 cup (240 ml) cold tart cherry juice
03 - 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
04 - 2-3 tablespoons simple syrup, to taste
05 - 1 1/2 cups ice cubes
06 - 1 cup (240 ml) chilled lemon-lime soda or sparkling water

For serving

07 - Maraschino cherries, for garnish
08 - Lime slices, for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - Place 4 serving glasses in the freezer for 5-10 minutes while you prepare the drink.
02 - Add the frozen cherries, tart cherry juice, lime juice, 2 tablespoons simple syrup, and ice to a blender. Blend until smooth and thick, about 30-45 seconds.
03 - Taste the slush. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon simple syrup if needed, or add a few more ice cubes if the mixture is too loose.
04 - Pour in the chilled lemon-lime soda and pulse once or twice, just until combined. Do not overblend.
05 - Pour into the chilled glasses and garnish with maraschino cherries and lime slices. Serve while thick and icy.

# Good to know:

01 - Serve immediately for the best slushy texture.
02 - Use sparkling water instead of soda for a less sweet drink.
03 - For a party, freeze the blended base without soda and add bubbles just before serving.
