Frosted Brownies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Unsalted butter (1/2 cup/113g).
02 - Semi-sweet chocolate bars, chopped (8 oz/226g).
03 - Granulated sugar (3/4 cup/150g).
04 - Light or dark brown sugar (1/4 cup/50g).
05 - Large eggs (3).
06 - Pure vanilla extract (1 teaspoon).
07 - All-purpose flour (2/3 cup/84g).
08 - Unsweetened cocoa powder (2 tablespoons/10g).
09 - Salt (1/4 teaspoon).
10 - Semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 cup/180g).
11 - Butter for frosting, softened (1/2 cup/113g).
12 - Confectioners' sugar (1 1/2 cups/180g).
13 - Cocoa powder for frosting (1/3 cup/27g).
14 - Heavy cream or milk, slightly warm (3 tablespoons).
15 - Vanilla extract for frosting (1/2 teaspoon).
16 - Salt for frosting (pinch).

# Instructions:

01 - Melt butter and chopped chocolate in microwave or over low heat. Cool 5 minutes.
02 - Whisk sugars into chocolate mixture, then eggs and vanilla. Add flour, cocoa, salt until combined. Fold in chips.
03 - Pour into lined 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350°F for 32-35 minutes until toothpick has few moist crumbs.
04 - Cool brownies 1-2 hours on wire rack.
05 - Beat butter until creamy. Add sugar, cocoa, warm cream, vanilla, salt. Beat until smooth.
06 - Spread frosting over cooled brownies. Cut into squares.

01 - Use quality chocolate bars, not chips, for melting.
02 - Err on side of underbaking.
03 - Can be frozen up to 3 months.
