→ Seafood

02 - 450 g fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined

→ Vegetables and Aromatics

03 - 15 ml unsalted butter
04 - 60 ml onion, finely chopped
05 - 60 ml green bell pepper, finely chopped
06 - 60 ml celery, finely chopped
07 - 1 garlic clove, minced

→ Custard Filling

08 - 120 ml mayonnaise
09 - 120 ml whole milk
10 - 2 large eggs
11 - 15 ml lemon juice
12 - 5 ml Worcestershire sauce
13 - 2.5 ml salt
14 - 1.25 ml ground black pepper
15 - 1.25 ml cayenne pepper

→ Topping

16 - 100 g Cheddar cheese, shredded

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 220°C. Place the unbaked pastry shell onto a baking sheet.
02 - Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, green bell pepper, celery, and garlic, then sauté until the vegetables are soft and translucent. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque. Remove from heat and drain excess liquid.
03 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise and milk until smooth. Add eggs, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper, blending thoroughly until combined.
04 - Distribute sautéed shrimp and vegetables evenly over the pastry shell. Pour the custard mixture over the filling and sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese on top.
05 - Transfer to the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the surface is golden brown.
06 - Remove from the oven and let stand for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

# Notes:

01 - Letting the pie rest after baking ensures a clean slice and helps the custard set fully.
