Crisp Cucumbers with Cheese and Bacon (Print version)

Cold cucumber rounds topped with cheddar, bacon, avocado lime ranch, and savory seasoning for a crisp 15-minute snack.

# Ingredients:

For the cucumber bites

01 - 2 large English cucumbers or 4 Persian cucumbers, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
02 - 1/2 cup (55 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
03 - 1/4 cup (30 g) crisp cooked bacon pieces or real bacon bits
04 - 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
05 - 1/4 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
06 - 1/4 teaspoon Salad Supreme seasoning
07 - 3 tablespoons avocado lime ranch dressing
08 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or dill, optional

# Instructions:

01 - Wash and dry the cucumbers. Slice into 1/4-inch rounds and pat the cut sides dry with paper towels.
02 - Place the cucumber slices in a single layer on a serving platter, leaving a little room between pieces.
03 - Top each cucumber slice with a small pinch of shredded cheddar, then scatter crisp bacon pieces over the cheese.
04 - Sprinkle the platter with black pepper, Old Bay, and Salad Supreme. Use a light hand because the cheese and bacon are salty.
05 - Drizzle avocado lime ranch over the cucumber bites. Add chives or dill if using.
06 - Serve immediately for the crispest texture, or chill for 10 minutes before serving. Avoid holding assembled bites longer than 30 minutes when possible.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served cold right after assembly.
02 - Patting the cucumber slices dry helps the cheese and bacon stay in place.
03 - For a thicker appetizer, use cucumber slices closer to 1/3 inch.
