Crispy Cheesy Hotdogs with Savory Cheese Blend (Print version)

Split hot dogs stuffed with a savory cheddar-mozzarella cheese blend, baked in buttery buns until crisp, golden, and melty.

# Ingredients:

For the hotdogs

01 - 8 hot dogs, beef or your preferred style
02 - 8 hot dog buns
03 - 3 tablespoons (42 g) unsalted butter, melted
04 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for finishing

For the savory cheese blend

05 - 1 cup (115 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
06 - 3/4 cup (85 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
07 - 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
08 - 1/4 cup (25 g) grated parmesan cheese
09 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
10 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
11 - 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
12 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
13 - 1 tablespoon finely sliced green onion, optional

# Instructions:

01 - Heat the oven to 400°F. Line a rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper.
02 - Stir cheddar, mozzarella, cream cheese, parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and green onion until evenly combined.
03 - Cut each hot dog lengthwise almost all the way through, leaving the bottom attached so it opens like a pocket.
04 - Spoon the cheese blend into each hot dog pocket and press it in gently. Place each filled hot dog into a bun.
05 - Brush the buns with melted butter. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the hot dogs are hot, the buns are crisp at the edges, and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
06 - Broil for 1 minute if deeper browning is desired. Sprinkle with parsley and serve while hot.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served immediately while the buns are crisp and the cheese is melted.
02 - Use freshly shredded cheese for the smoothest melt.
03 - Let the cheese filling soften slightly before stuffing if it has been refrigerated.
