Bring large pot of water to boil with 1-2 tablespoons salt. Cook pasta according to package directions (10-12 minutes). Rinse with cold water, drain, and let cool completely.

While pasta cooks, tear or cut imitation crab meat into bite-size pieces.

In a very large bowl, combine crab meat, mayonnaise, buttermilk, garlic, lemon juice, and all seasonings. Mix until well combined.

Add cooled pasta to the crab mixture and toss until well-coated. Garnish with green onions if desired.

Refrigerate for at least one hour or overnight. Toss again before serving.
