Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta (Print Version)

01 - 2 servings pappardelle or pasta of choice
02 - 6 shrimp, peeled and deveined
03 - 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning (e.g., Louisiana Fish Fry Products)
04 - 2 andouille sausages, sliced
05 - 1.5 tbsp butter
06 - 1.5 tbsp neutral oil
07 - 1 small onion, diced
08 - 4 cloves garlic, sliced

09 - 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
10 - 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
11 - 1 tsp lemon pepper
12 - 2 tsp paprika
13 - 1 tsp chili powder (optional)
14 - 3 tsp sugar
15 - 1.5 tsp dried oregano
16 - 1 tbsp lemon juice
17 - 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
18 - 1 tbsp butter

# Instructions:

01 - Boil the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve some pasta water for later use.
02 - Pat dry the shrimp and season with Cajun seasoning.
03 - Pan fry the sliced sausages in a large frying pan until cooked. Remove and set aside. In the same pan, heat 1/2 tbsp butter and 1/2 tbsp oil over medium heat. Cook the shrimp for 2 minutes on each side and remove from the pan.
04 - In the same pan, melt 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp oil over medium heat. Sauté diced onions and garlic until the onions are translucent.
05 - Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Add Cajun seasoning, lemon pepper, paprika, chili powder (if using), sugar, oregano, and parmesan cheese. Stir until well combined and let it cook until it begins to boil. Stir occasionally.
06 - Add 1/4 cup of reserved pasta water and the cooked pasta to the pan. Stir until the pasta is well coated in the sauce. Add lemon juice and stir for an additional minute.
07 - Stir in the remaining butter along with the cooked shrimp and sausages. Mix together for 1 minute and then turn off the heat.
08 - Top with grated parmesan cheese and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve hot and enjoy.
