# Ingredients:

For the casserole

01 - 1 (32 oz/900 g) bag frozen tater tots
02 - Cooking spray or 1 teaspoon neutral oil, for the baking dish
03 - 1 (10.5 oz/298 g) can cream of chicken soup
04 - 1 cup (240 g) sour cream
05 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) ranch dressing
06 - 1 (1 oz/28 g) packet ranch dressing mix
07 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
09 - 4 cups (560 g) cooked shredded chicken
10 - 1 1/2 cups (170 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
11 - 10 slices cooked bacon, crumbled and divided

For finishing

12 - 2 scallions, thinly sliced
13 - Optional extra ranch dressing, for drizzling

# Instructions:

01 - Heat the oven to 425°F. Spread the frozen tater tots on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 20-25 minutes, until hot and lightly golden. Reduce the oven to 375°F.
02 - Lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or oil.
03 - In a large bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, ranch dressing, ranch mix, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.
04 - Fold in the shredded chicken, 1 cup of the cheddar, and about three-quarters of the bacon until the chicken is evenly coated.
05 - Spread the chicken mixture evenly in the prepared dish. Arrange the hot tater tots over the top in a single layer, then sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar.
06 - Bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes, until the edges are bubbling and the tots are deeply golden. Sprinkle with the remaining bacon and scallions before serving.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served hot after a 5-10 minute rest.
02 - Use cooked chicken only. Rotisserie chicken is the fastest option.
03 - For a crispier top, keep the tots in a single layer.
