Indulge in Cherry Chocolate Dessert Layers (Print version)

A chilled cherry chocolate layered dessert with an Oreo crust, creamy chocolate cheesecake, cherry filling, and whipped topping.

# Ingredients:

For the crust

01 - 1 package (14.3 oz / 405 g) chocolate sandwich cookies
02 - 6 tablespoons (85 g) salted butter, melted

For the chocolate layer

03 - 16 oz (450 g) cream cheese, softened
04 - 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
05 - 1/4 cup (25 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
07 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) half-and-half

For the cherry and topping layers

08 - 2 cans (21 oz / 595 g each) cherry pie filling
09 - 1 tub (16 oz / 450 g) frozen whipped topping, thawed
10 - 1/3 cup chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips
11 - 16 maraschino cherries or fresh cherries, patted dry

# Instructions:

01 - Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Set aside enough space in the refrigerator for the pan.
02 - Pulse the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs. Mix with melted butter, then press firmly and evenly into the bottom of the dish. Chill for 15 minutes.
03 - Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla, then beat again. Slowly mix in the half-and-half until the filling is fluffy and spreadable.
04 - Spoon the chocolate filling over the chilled crust in small mounds. Spread gently into an even layer without pulling up the crumbs.
05 - Spoon the cherry pie filling over the chocolate layer. Spread lightly with a spatula, keeping the layer even.
06 - Spread the thawed whipped topping over the cherries. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
07 - Add cherries to the top just before serving. Slice into 16 squares with a clean sharp knife.
