Easy Cheesy Taco Breadsticks (Print version)

Taco-seasoned beef and melted cheese baked inside soft pizza dough breadsticks, perfect for dipping.

# Ingredients:

For the taco filling

01 - 1/2 small onion, diced (about 1/2 cup)
02 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
03 - 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
04 - 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
05 - Salt and black pepper

For the breadsticks

06 - 1 lb (450 g) pizza dough, at room temperature
07 - 1 1/2 cups (150 g) shredded Mexican cheese blend
08 - 1 tablespoon olive oil

For serving

09 - Salsa, for dipping
10 - Guacamole, for dipping

# Instructions:

01 - Sauté the onion and garlic in a skillet over medium heat until soft, about 3 minutes. Add the ground beef and taco seasoning and cook until browned, breaking it up as you go. Remove from the heat and let it cool slightly.
02 - Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick on a lightly floured surface, then cut it into 5 even strips.
03 - Spoon the beef mixture down the center of each strip and top with a generous pinch of cheese. Fold the dough over the filling, then pinch the edges and ends firmly to seal.
04 - Transfer the breadsticks to a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush each one with olive oil. Bake for 10 minutes until the dough just begins to set.
05 - Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle the remaining cheese over each breadstick. Return to the oven for 5 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden.
06 - Let the breadsticks rest for 3 to 5 minutes. Serve warm with salsa and guacamole on the side.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served warm with salsa and guacamole.
02 - Let the cooked beef cool slightly before filling so it does not melt the cheese prematurely.
