Cheesy Sloppy Joe Toast (Print Version)

Golden garlic bread holds tangy beef sauce and a layer of cheddar cheese. So simple and packed with flavor.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 1 pound ground beef
02 - 1 medium yellow onion, chopped up (right around 4.2 ounces)
03 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
04 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
05 - 1/4 cup ketchup
06 - 1 cup tomato sauce
07 - 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
08 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
09 - 1 teaspoon onion powder

→ Bread and Cheese

10 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (about 4 ounces)
11 - 8 slices frozen garlic toast

# Instructions:

01 - Toss your diced onion and ground beef into a skillet you’ve warmed over medium-high heat. Let them cook, mixing now and then, till the onions turn soft and the beef’s not pink anymore. Once browned, pour off that extra grease so it’s not too heavy.
02 - Give the beef mix a good stir with the ketchup, tomato sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, onion powder, and garlic powder. Set the stove down to low heat. Let everything gently bubble away for about 5 minutes so all the flavors come together.
03 - Lay your frozen garlic toast slices out on a baking sheet. Scoop the saucy beef mixture over each slice. Spread to the edges and top each with a heap of shredded cheddar.
04 - Slide the pan into your oven that’s already set to 400°F. Leave it there for 10 to 15 minutes, just till that cheese melts and the toast gets hot. Eat up right away while it’s still gooey.

# Notes:

01 - After browning the beef, pour off the grease. That helps keep your toast crisp and not oily.
