Refreshing Caramel Frappuccino (Print version)

A cold, creamy caramel frappuccino made with strong coffee, milk, caramel sauce, and ice in about 8 minutes.

# Ingredients:

For the frappuccino

01 - 3/4 cup (180 ml) cold strong brewed coffee or chilled espresso
02 - 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk, cold
03 - 1/4 cup (60 ml) caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
04 - 1 tablespoon granulated sugar or vanilla syrup, optional
05 - 1/8 teaspoon xanthan gum, optional
06 - 1 small pinch fine salt
07 - 3 cups (420 g) ice cubes

For topping

08 - 1/2 cup whipped cream
09 - 1-2 tablespoons caramel sauce, for drizzling

# Instructions:

01 - Use cold strong brewed coffee or chilled espresso. If the coffee is warm, cool it over ice and measure 3/4 cup after chilling.
02 - Pour the coffee and milk into a blender. Add the caramel sauce, sugar if using, xanthan gum, and salt.
03 - Add the ice cubes. Blend on high for 30-60 seconds, until the mixture is thick, smooth, and evenly frosty.
04 - Taste the drink. Add a splash of milk if it is too thick, or a few extra ice cubes if it is too thin. Blend briefly to combine.
05 - Drizzle caramel inside two tall glasses. Pour in the frappuccino, top with whipped cream, and drizzle with more caramel. Serve immediately.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served right after blending while thick and icy.
02 - Use cold brew or chilled espresso for a stronger coffee flavor.
03 - Xanthan gum is optional, but it helps prevent separation.
