Candied Orange Slices (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Ice water.
02 - 8 cups (1920ml) water, divided.
03 - 4 small oranges (like tangelos).
04 - 4 cups (800g) granulated sugar, plus more for coating.

# Instructions:

01 - Fill large bowl with ice water and set aside.
02 - Boil 4 cups water, add orange slices for 2 minutes. Transfer to ice water. Discard boiling water.
03 - Combine remaining water and sugar in saucepan. Heat until sugar dissolves.
04 - Add orange slices to syrup. Simmer 45-60 minutes until translucent, swirling every 15 minutes.
05 - Transfer to cooling rack over baking sheet. Dry up to 24 hours. Coat in sugar if desired.
