# Ingredients:

For the special sauce

01 - 3/4 cup (180 g) mayonnaise
02 - 1/4 cup (60 g) dill pickle relish
03 - 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
04 - 1 tablespoon ketchup
05 - 1 teaspoon white vinegar
06 - 1/2 teaspoon paprika
07 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
09 - 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

For the beef filling

10 - 1 1/2 lb (680 g) ground beef, preferably 85/15
11 - 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
12 - 1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
13 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
14 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
15 - 3/4 cup (180 ml) beef broth
16 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch

For assembling

17 - 6 sesame seed hamburger buns, split
18 - 6 slices American cheese
19 - 2 cups (90 g) finely shredded iceberg lettuce
20 - 18 dill pickle chips
21 - Extra sauce, for spooning over the sandwiches

# Instructions:

01 - Stir the mayonnaise, pickle relish, mustard, ketchup, vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate while you cook the beef.
02 - Add the ground beef and diced onion to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook for 6-8 minutes, breaking the beef into small crumbles, until browned and no longer pink.
03 - Drain excess grease if needed. Stir in the salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce until the beef smells savory and evenly seasoned.
04 - Whisk the beef broth and cornstarch together in a small bowl. Pour it into the skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring often, until the filling is glossy and thick enough to mound on a bun.
05 - Toast the cut sides of the buns in a dry skillet for 1-2 minutes, or broil briefly until lightly golden. Watch closely so they do not burn.
06 - Spread sauce on the bottom buns. Add a slice of American cheese, a scoop of hot beef, shredded lettuce, pickle chips, and another spoonful of sauce. Add the top buns and serve right away.

# Good to know:
