02 - 1 medium yellow onion, diced
03 - 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
04 - 240 millilitres ketchup
05 - 1 teaspoon mustard
06 - 110 grams brown sugar, packed
07 - 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
08 - 2 cans (425 grams each) pork and beans, undrained
09 - Salt, to taste
10 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

11 - 15 grams butter

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease a 23 x 33 centimetre baking dish with butter.
02 - In a deep skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until no longer pink, breaking it apart as it cooks.
03 - Add onion and green bell pepper to the skillet. Continue cooking until vegetables are softened. Drain and discard excess fat.
04 - Stir in ketchup until well combined. Add mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Mix thoroughly. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
05 - Add undrained pork and beans to the skillet. Stir gently to incorporate without breaking beans.
06 - Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Spread evenly and cover tightly with aluminium foil. Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven.

# Notes:

01 - For a spicier dish, substitute half the bell pepper with diced jalapeño or poblano pepper.
