Bahama Mama (Print version)

A fruity Bahama Mama cocktail with rum, coconut, pineapple, orange, lime, and a sunset splash of grenadine.

# Ingredients:

For one cocktail

01 - 1 oz (30 ml) dark rum
02 - 1 oz (30 ml) coconut rum
03 - 2 oz (60 ml) pineapple juice
04 - 2 oz (60 ml) orange juice
05 - 1/2 oz (15 ml) fresh lime juice
06 - 1/2 oz (15 ml) grenadine
07 - 1 cup crushed ice, plus ice for shaking

For garnish

08 - 1 pineapple wedge
09 - 1 orange slice
10 - 1 cocktail cherry

# Instructions:

01 - Fill a hurricane glass or tall glass with crushed ice and set it aside while you mix the drink.
02 - Add dark rum, coconut rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, lime juice, and a scoop of ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake for 10-15 seconds until well chilled.
03 - Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over the crushed ice, leaving a little space at the top.
04 - Slowly pour the grenadine down the inside of the glass so it sinks and creates a red sunset layer.
05 - Garnish with pineapple, orange, and a cherry. Serve immediately while very cold.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served right after shaking, before the crushed ice melts.
02 - For a sweeter drink, stir the grenadine through the glass before sipping.
03 - Optional tiki-style variation: add 1/4 oz (7 ml) coffee liqueur.
