Bacon Cheeseburger Stuffed Tater Tot Cones (Print version)

Crispy tater tots, seasoned cheeseburger beef, cheddar, bacon, pickles, and sauce packed into crunchy cones.

# Ingredients:

For the cones

01 - 1 bag (32 oz or 900 g) frozen tater tots
02 - 8 plain waffle cones
03 - 1 1/2 cups (170 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
04 - 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and chopped
05 - 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles

For the cheeseburger beef

06 - 1 lb (450 g) ground beef, 80 or 85 percent lean
07 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
08 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
09 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
10 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
11 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
12 - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
13 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the burger sauce

14 - 1/3 cup mayonnaise
15 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
16 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
17 - 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
18 - 1 teaspoon pickle juice, optional

# Instructions:

01 - Heat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the tater tots on a large sheet pan and bake for 28-32 minutes, turning once, until deeply golden and crisp.
02 - Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
03 - Stir in ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is thick and glossy.
04 - In a small bowl, stir together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, and pickle juice if using. Chill until ready to serve.
05 - Place the waffle cones on a baking sheet and warm in the oven for 3-4 minutes. Handle gently so they do not crack.
06 - Sprinkle a little cheddar into each cone, then layer in crisp tots, seasoned beef, more cheddar, and chopped bacon. Return to the oven for 2-3 minutes, just until the cheese softens.
07 - Top each cone with burger sauce, chopped pickles, and extra bacon if desired. Serve immediately while the tots and cones are crisp.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served right after assembly for the crispiest texture.
02 - Use a muffin tin or tall glasses to hold cones upright while filling.
03 - Cook ground beef to 160°F for food safety.
