Chewy apple brownies topped with maple glaze for a delightful dessert with warm spice notes.

# Ingredients:

→ Brownie Base

01 - 250 grams all-purpose flour
02 - 5 grams baking powder
03 - 2.5 grams salt
04 - 115 grams unsalted butter, melted
05 - 220 grams brown sugar
06 - 2 large eggs
07 - 5 millilitres vanilla extract
08 - 130 grams apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
09 - 2.5 grams ground cinnamon
10 - 1.25 grams ground nutmeg

→ Maple Glaze

11 - 60 grams powdered sugar
12 - 30 millilitres pure maple syrup
13 - 15–30 millilitres milk, as needed for consistency

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease and flour a 20x20 centimetre baking pan to prevent sticking.
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until evenly distributed.
03 - In a large mixing bowl, blend melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and glossy.
04 - Add eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Beat until fully combined for a uniform texture.
05 - Gradually fold the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.
06 - Gently fold in the chopped apples, ensuring even distribution throughout the batter.
07 - Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Smooth the surface. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre emerges clean.
08 - Remove the pan from the oven and allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
09 - While cooling, whisk powdered sugar, pure maple syrup, and milk together, adding milk gradually to achieve a smooth, pourable consistency.
10 - Drizzle the maple glaze evenly over the cooled brownies. Cut into squares and serve.

# Notes:

01 - For a balanced flavour, select tart apple varieties such as Granny Smith.
02 - Ensure brownies are fully cooled before glazing to achieve a neat finish.
