Air Fryer Pizza Dogs (Print version)

Cheesy Air Fryer Pizza Dogs with crisp buns, hot dogs, pizza sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni in about 15 minutes.

# Ingredients:

For the pizza dogs

01 - 8 hot dogs, beef, pork, turkey, or chicken
02 - 8 sturdy hot dog buns
03 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) thick pizza sauce, plus more for dipping
04 - 1 1/2 cups (170 g) shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
05 - 3 oz (85 g) mini pepperoni slices
06 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
07 - 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Optional finishes

08 - Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
09 - Chopped fresh parsley or basil, for serving

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for about 3 minutes. This helps the hot dogs heat quickly and evenly.
02 - Place the hot dogs in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 4-5 minutes, shaking once, until hot and lightly blistered.
03 - Open the buns without splitting them all the way through. Spread about 1 tablespoon pizza sauce inside each bun.
04 - Add a small pinch of mozzarella and a few pepperoni slices inside each sauced bun. Set one hot dog into each bun.
05 - Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the hot dogs. Top with the remaining pepperoni, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan.
06 - Return the assembled pizza dogs to the basket. Air fry at 360°F for 3-5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bun edges are crisp.
07 - Let the pizza dogs rest for 1 minute so the cheese settles. Serve hot with extra warm pizza sauce for dipping.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served immediately while the buns are crisp.
02 - Cook in batches if your air fryer basket is small.
03 - Use thick pizza sauce to prevent soggy buns.
