Air Fryer Onion Rings (Print Version)

Crispy, golden onion rings made simple and lighter in the air fryer with panko and a savory seasoning blend.

# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 1 yellow onion, sliced into 1.25 cm rings
02 - 1¼ cups panko bread crumbs
03 - 2 large eggs
04 - ½ cup all-purpose flour
05 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
06 - ½ teaspoon onion powder
07 - heaping ½ teaspoon sea salt
08 - extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling

→ Optional for serving

09 - Tartar sauce, for dipping

# Instructions:

01 - Combine panko bread crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, and sea salt on a rimmed tray. In a shallow bowl, lightly beat eggs. Place flour in another small bowl.
02 - Set air fryer to 188°C.
03 - Coat each onion ring in flour, tapping off excess. Dip in beaten eggs, then coat with seasoned panko mixture. Arrange breaded rings on a large plate.
04 - Drizzle onion rings lightly with olive oil. Transfer to air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring space around each ring. Cook in batches as necessary. Air fry for 8 to 11 minutes until golden and crisp.
05 - If needed, return all batches to air fryer for 1–2 minutes to rewarm. Serve warm with optional tartar sauce.

# Notes:

01 - Avoid crowding the air fryer basket to ensure even crisping. Breaded onion rings may be held at room temperature and briefly air fried again to restore heat and texture before serving.
