Delicious Air-fried Bologna Sandwich Recipe For A Quick Meal (Print version)

A quick air-fried bologna sandwich with crisp edges, melty cheese, toasted bread, mustard, mayo, and pickles.

# Ingredients:

For the sandwich

01 - 4 slices bologna, regular or thick-cut
02 - 4 slices sandwich bread or 2 soft sandwich buns
03 - 2 slices American cheese or cheddar
04 - 2 teaspoons yellow mustard, plus more to taste
05 - 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
06 - 8 dill pickle chips
07 - 2 lettuce leaves, optional
08 - 2 tomato slices, optional
09 - 1 teaspoon softened butter or cooking spray for the bread

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the air fryer to 375°F for 2-3 minutes. A hot basket helps the bologna brown quickly.
02 - Make 3 or 4 short slits around the edge of each bologna slice, or cut a small X in the center. Do not cut all the way through the slice.
03 - Place the bologna in a single layer. Air fry for 4-6 minutes, flipping halfway through, until hot with browned, crisp edges.
04 - Place cheese on two of the hot bologna slices and air fry for 30-45 seconds more, just until melted.
05 - Lightly butter or spray the bread. Air fry for 1-2 minutes until warm and lightly toasted.
06 - Spread mustard and mayonnaise on the bread. Add the cheesy bologna, extra bologna slices, pickles, lettuce, and tomato if using. Serve right away.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served immediately while the bologna edges are crisp.
02 - Use thick-cut bologna for a heartier sandwich and add 1-2 minutes if needed.
