Taco Ring (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb lean ground beef.
02 - 1 (1.25 oz) package taco seasoning mix.
03 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (4 oz).
04 - 2 tbsp water.
05 - 2 (8 oz) packages refrigerated crescent dinner rolls.
06 - 1 medium bell pepper.
07 - 1 cup salsa.
08 - 3 cups shredded lettuce.
09 - 1 medium tomato, chopped.
10 - 1/4 cup chopped onion (optional).
11 - 1/2 cup pitted ripe black olives (optional).
12 - Sour cream (optional).

Instructions:

01 - Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for 7-9 minutes or until beef is no longer pink; drain excess fat.
02 - Remove skillet from heat and stir in taco seasoning mix, shredded cheese, and water until well combined.
03 - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
04 - Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles.
05 - Arrange triangles in a circle on a pizza stone or flat round pan with the wide ends overlapping in the center and points facing outward, leaving a 5-inch diameter opening in the center.
06 - Scoop meat mixture evenly onto the widest end of each triangle.
07 - Fold the points of each triangle up over the filling and tuck under the wide ends of dough at the center of the ring. The filling will not be completely covered.
08 - Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crescent dough is golden brown.
09 - Shred lettuce, and chop tomato, onion, olives, and bell pepper if desired.
10 - Optional: Scoop out a bell pepper and fill it with salsa, then place it in the center of the ring.
11 - Top the taco ring with shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, and any other desired toppings. Add extra shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream if desired.
