Sweet And Sour Meatballs (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound ground beef.
02 - 1 cup dry bread crumbs.
03 - 1 onion, chopped.
04 - 1 egg.
05 - Salt and pepper to taste.
06 - 1 cup brown sugar.
07 - 1 cup water.
08 - ½ cup ketchup.
09 - ½ cup cider vinegar.
10 - 2 tablespoons soy sauce.
11 - 2 tablespoons cornstarch.

Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
02 - Shape the mixture into 1½-inch meatballs.
03 - In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook the meatballs until they are evenly browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
04 - In a medium bowl, mix together the brown sugar, water, ketchup, cider vinegar, soy sauce, and cornstarch until smooth.
05 - Once the meatballs are cooked, pour the sweet and sour sauce over them in the skillet.
06 - Reduce the heat to low and simmer the meatballs and sauce for 3-5 minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats the meatballs.
07 - Serve hot and enjoy!.

Notes:

01 - These sweet and sour meatballs are perfect as an appetizer or served over rice for a main dish.
02 - You can substitute ground pork or turkey for the ground beef if desired.
