Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb ground beef.
02 - 1/2 lb ground sausage (bulk or Italian).
03 - 2 tablespoons butter.
04 - 8 ounces mushrooms, thickly sliced.
05 - 1/2 yellow onion, finely chopped.
06 - 2 cloves garlic, minced.
07 - 1/2 teaspoon marjoram.
08 - 3 cups marinara sauce.
09 - Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste).
10 - 6 English muffins.
11 - 2 ounces pepperoni, diced.
12 - 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese.

Instructions:

01 - In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and ground sausage. About halfway through the browning process, add the butter, mushrooms, and onion. Cook until the meat and mushrooms are browned and the onions have softened.
02 - Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the garlic and marjoram, cooking for 1 minute while stirring constantly.
03 - Stir in the marinara sauce and season with kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 7-10 minutes.
04 - Meanwhile, split and toast the English muffins on a baking sheet under the broiler until golden.
05 - Divide the meat mixture evenly over the toasted muffins. Top with diced pepperoni and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, dividing evenly.
06 - Place the assembled pizza burgers under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.

Notes:

01 - These Pizza Burgers can be customized with other toppings like olives or bell peppers to suit your taste.
02 - For a spicier version, you can add red pepper flakes or use hot Italian sausage.
03 - Serve alongside a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
