Orange Chicken (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 3/4 cup flour.
02 - 2 tbsp cornstarch.
03 - 1/3 cup cold water (may need more to make batter thinner; add additional water slowly).
04 - 1 egg.
05 - 1 tsp garlic powder.
06 - Salt and pepper, to taste.
07 - 6-8 boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces.
08 - Oil for frying.
09 - Juice from 2 oranges.
10 - Orange zest.
11 - 5 tbsp sugar.
12 - 5 tbsp soy sauce.
13 - 1 tbsp rice vinegar.
14 - 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 4 tbsp cold water.
15 - 1 tsp ginger.
16 - 1 clove garlic, minced.

Instructions:

01 - Make the batter by mixing flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and water. If the batter is too thick, add a little more water a bit at a time.
02 - Add the chicken to the batter and mix until coated evenly. Fry in 350°F (175°C) oil until a meat thermometer shows the chicken is done.
03 - Mix all ingredients together for the sauce. Over medium heat, add the sauce to a pan and then add the chicken, allowing the sauce to thicken.
04 - Serve and enjoy.
