Meatball Sub Casserole (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 loaf Italian bread, cut into 1-inch thick slices.
02 - 8 ounce block cream cheese, softened to room temperature.
03 - ½ cup mayonnaise.
04 - 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning.
05 - ¼ teaspoon pepper.
06 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided use.
07 - 1 bag frozen Italian style meatballs, thawed.
08 - 24 ounce jar pasta sauce.
09 - Dried parsley, for garnish (optional).

Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
02 - Arrange bread slices in a single layer in an ungreased 9x13-inch baking dish. Fill in any gaps with pieces of bread.
03 - In a bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise and seasonings. Spread mixture over bread slices.
04 - Sprinkle with 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese.
05 - Gently mix together spaghetti sauce and meatballs. Spoon over cream cheese layer.
06 - Sprinkle the top evenly with remaining shredded cheese.
07 - Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes. If you notice it is getting too brown, just loosely cover it with some aluminum foil.
08 - Allow to cool for a few minutes then slice and serve.
