Italian Sausage Pasta (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 12 ounces bow tie pasta.
02 - 1 lb Italian sausage.
03 - 1 tablespoon olive oil.
04 - 1 onion, diced.
05 - 3 cloves garlic, minced.
06 - 1 red bell pepper, diced.
07 - 1 yellow bell pepper, diced.
08 - 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes.
09 - 1/2 cup chicken broth.
10 - 1 teaspoon dried basil.
11 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano.
12 - Salt and pepper to taste.
13 - Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving.

Instructions:

01 - Cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
02 - In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add Italian sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Remove sausage from skillet and set aside.
03 - In the same skillet, add diced onion and bell peppers. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
04 - Stir in diced tomatoes (with juices), chicken broth, dried basil, and dried oregano. Bring to a simmer.
05 - Return the cooked sausage to the skillet. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
06 - Add the cooked bow tie pasta to the skillet and toss until well combined.
07 - Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
