Italian Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 loaf Italian bread.
02 - ½ cup unsalted butter, softened.
03 - 1 teaspoon garlic salt.
04 - 1 pound ground beef.
05 - ¼ cup yellow onion, chopped.
06 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder.
07 - 1 teaspoon yellow mustard.
08 - ¾ cup ketchup.
09 - ½ teaspoon kosher salt.
10 - ¼ teaspoon black pepper.
11 - ½ cup water.
12 - 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded.
13 - 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded.
14 - Parsley, chopped for garnish.

Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the loaf of Italian bread lengthwise into two halves. Place both halves cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
02 - In a small bowl, combine ½ cup softened unsalted butter and 1 teaspoon garlic salt. Spread the butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
03 - In a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook 1 pound ground beef and ¼ cup chopped onion until the beef is no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes. Drain the grease. Stir in ½ teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon yellow mustard, ¾ cup ketchup, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, and ½ cup water. Mix until well combined.
04 - Divide the sloppy joe mixture evenly between the two halves of the bread. Top with 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese and 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
05 - Remove from the oven, cut into pieces, and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
