Mozzarella Cheese Sticks (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 12 mozzarella cheese sticks.
02 - 2 cups of breadcrumbs.
03 - 1 cup of all-purpose flour.
04 - 2 large eggs.
05 - 2 tablespoons of milk.
06 - 1 teaspoon of garlic powder.
07 - 1 teaspoon of onion powder.
08 - 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
09 - 1 teaspoon of salt.
10 - 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
11 - Vegetable oil for frying.
12 - Marinara sauce for dipping.

Instructions:

01 - Unwrap the mozzarella cheese sticks and cut them in half to make 24 pieces. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 1 hour. Freezing the cheese sticks helps them hold their shape during frying.
02 - In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. In another shallow bowl, place the flour. In a third shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
03 - Take the frozen cheese sticks and coat each one in flour, shaking off any excess. Dip the floured cheese stick into the egg mixture, ensuring it is fully coated. Roll the cheese stick in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs. Repeat the process for a double coating: dip the breaded cheese stick back into the egg mixture and then roll it again in the breadcrumbs. This double coating helps create an extra crispy exterior. Place the breaded cheese sticks back on the baking sheet and freeze for another 30 minutes.
04 - In a large, deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C). You need enough oil to fully submerge the cheese sticks. Carefully add a few cheese sticks to the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the cheese sticks for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried cheese sticks to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Repeat the frying process with the remaining cheese sticks.
05 - Serve the mozzarella cheese sticks hot with marinara sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy the crispy, gooey goodness!.
