Cookie Recipe (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour.
02 - 1 teaspoon baking soda.
03 - 1 teaspoon salt.
04 - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened.
05 - 3/4 cup white granulated sugar.
06 - 3/4 cup brown sugar.
07 - 2 large eggs.
08 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
09 - 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips.
10 - 1 cup rolled oats.
11 - 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional).
12 - 1 cup shredded coconut (optional).
13 - 1 cup M&M’s or other small candy pieces.
14 - Confectioners' sugar for dusting (optional).

Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
03 - In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
04 - Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
05 - Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
06 - Stir in the chocolate chips, oats, nuts (if using), shredded coconut (if using), and M&M’s.
07 - Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
08 - Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
09 - Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
10 - Dust with confectioners' sugar if desired.
