Easy Sopapilla Cheesecake Bars (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 2 cans crescent roll dough.
02 - 16 oz cream cheese, softened.
03 - 1 cup granulated white sugar.
04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
05 - 1/4 cup melted butter.
06 - 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon.
07 - 1/4 cup additional sugar.

Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the base. Optionally, bake this base layer for 5-8 minutes until lightly set.
02 - In a medium bowl, beat together 16 oz of softened cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
03 - Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the baked or unbaked base layer of dough. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and lay it on top, pressing down to seal the edges.
04 - Brush the top layer of dough with 1/4 cup of melted butter. In a small bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon and 1/4 cup of additional sugar. Sprinkle this cinnamon-sugar mixture generously over the top.
05 - Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dough is fully cooked through. Serve the bars warm for a gooey treat, or chill them in the refrigerator for a firmer texture. Store any leftovers in the fridge.
