Funnel Cakes (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 2 eggs, lightly beaten.
02 - 1 1/2 cups milk.
03 - 1/4 cup packed brown sugar.
04 - 2 cups all-purpose flour.
05 - 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder.
06 - 1/4 teaspoon salt.
07 - Vegetable oil for frying.
08 - 1 tablespoon powdered sugar for dusting.

Instructions:

01 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and brown sugar until well combined.
02 - In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
03 - Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, beating until a smooth batter forms.
04 - Pour enough vegetable oil into an electric skillet or deep fryer to reach a depth of about 4 inches, allowing an additional 2 inches for the funnel cakes to cook evenly.
05 - Heat the oil to 375°F (190°C).
06 - Using a funnel or a squeeze bottle, pour the batter into the hot oil in a circular motion to create a lattice pattern.
07 - Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
08 - Remove the funnel cakes from the oil and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
