Holiday Desserts (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 (10-11 ounce) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips.
02 - 1 (10-11 ounce) bag white chocolate melting wafers or white chocolate chips.
03 - 2 tablespoons coconut oil or shortening, divided.
04 - Small amounts of assorted toppings: pretzels, nuts, chopped candy, chopped cookies, sprinkles.

Instructions:

01 - In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or shortening. Microwave for 1 minute at 50% power, then stir until the bowl no longer feels warm.
02 - Continue microwaving at 45-second intervals at 50% power, stirring between each interval until the chocolate is fully melted.
03 - Pour the melted chocolate onto a wax paper-covered cookie sheet. Tilt the cookie sheet to spread the chocolate evenly.
04 - Sprinkle the desired toppings (pretzels, nuts, chopped candy, chopped cookies, sprinkles) onto the melted chocolate.
05 - Set aside for 2-3 hours, or until the chocolate is firm. Once firm, break the chocolate into pieces.
06 - Repeat the melting process with the white chocolate and remaining 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or shortening. Pour and spread over another wax-covered sheet, add toppings, and let firm before breaking into pieces.
