Cherry Rice Krispie Treats (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal.
02 - 10 ounces Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers.
03 - 6 tablespoons unsalted butter.
04 - 16 ounces mini marshmallows.
05 - 1 ½ tablespoons cherry gelatin powder (JELL-O, not sugar-free).
06 - Sprinkles (optional).

Instructions:

01 - In a large saucepan, melt the 6 tablespoons unsalted butter and 16 ounces mini marshmallows over low heat, stirring constantly until fully melted.
02 - Add the 1 ½ tablespoons cherry gelatin powder and mix until smooth.
03 - Gently fold in the 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal until well combined.
04 - Press the mixture into a buttered 13x9 baking dish (or a 9-inch square pan for thicker treats) using a greased piece of wax paper or spatula.
05 - Melt the 10 ounces of dark chocolate wafers and spread evenly over the top.
06 - Let the treats set for about one hour.
07 - Once set, cut into squares and enjoy! Store in a covered container.

Notes:

01 - These treats combine the classic Rice Krispies texture with a cherry flavor and chocolate topping.
02 - You can use milk chocolate instead of dark for a sweeter taste.
03 - The sprinkles are optional but add a fun, colorful touch.
