Baked Beans (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 tablespoon olive oil.
02 - 1 medium white onion, diced.
03 - 1 medium green bell pepper, diced.
04 - 1 pound ground beef (lean preferred).
05 - 1 cup bacon, diced (cooked or raw).
06 - 42 ounces baked beans (canned with sauce, three 14-16 ounce cans).
07 - 1/4 cup ketchup.
08 - 1/4 cup brown sugar.
09 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce.
10 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard.
11 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
12 - 1/4 teaspoon salt.
13 - 1/4 teaspoon pepper.

Instructions:

01 - Dice the onion and the bell pepper into small 1/2 inch pieces.
02 - Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper, and cook, stirring, for about 3-4 minutes or until softened.
03 - Add the ground beef and diced bacon to the skillet and cook. Stir to break up any lumps with the back of a wooden spoon. Keep stirring occasionally and cook until the beef is no longer pink. Drain any excess oil if needed.
04 - Add the baked beans with sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and garlic powder to the skillet. Stir to combine, then heat until it starts to bubble.
05 - Keep the temperature so that the whole pan simmers for 10 minutes, usually on medium heat. Then serve and enjoy!.
