Apple Pie Egg Rolls (Print Version)
Ingredients:
01 -
1 Tablespoon water.
02 -
1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour.
03 -
7 egg roll wrappers.
04 -
1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling, chopped if desired.
05 -
3/4 cup granulated sugar.
06 -
1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon.
07 -
Caramel sauce, for dipping (optional).
Instructions:
01 -
In a small bowl, whisk together 1 Tablespoon water and 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour until fully combined. Set aside.
02 -
In a separate shallow bowl, mix 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon. Set aside.
03 -
On a clean work surface, lay one egg roll wrapper with a pointy end facing you. Place 1/3 cup of apple pie filling on the lower third of the wrapper.
04 -
Fold the bottom corner up over the filling. Use your finger to apply the water/flour mixture to the exposed edges of the wrapper.
05 -
Tuck both sides over the filling and continue to roll tightly into a log shape. Seal the edges well with more water/flour mixture if necessary. Repeat with the remaining wrappers.
06 -
Preheat your deep fryer to 350°F. If using a dutch oven, fill with 4 inches of oil and heat to 350°F.
07 -
Fry 3-4 egg rolls at a time until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally if using a pot.
08 -
Drain the egg rolls and immediately roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place on a wire rack set over a baking sheet.
09 -
Serve warm with caramel sauce for dipping, if desired.
